Jeff Doyle Named Interim Executive Director of the Plant Based Foods Institute

The Plant Based Foods Institute (PBFI) has named Jeff Doyle as the Interim Executive Director, following the departure of Sanah Baig, who will be joining the Tilt Collective as U.S. Country Director.

Jeff’s tenure as Interim Executive Director begins October 19, 2026. He comes to the role with over a decade working with major international health organizations to secure large-scale funding for high-impact public health initiatives and execute both proven and innovative programs on the ground. Building on his public health background, he turned his focus to expanding access to nutritious, affordable, sustainable food and previously served as Director of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships at PBFI.

“I am honored to step into the role of Interim Executive Director at PBFI, working alongside our fantastic team to advance our work,” said Jeff. “Our focus is on the clear road ahead: delivering on commitments to our close partners and advancing our mission. We’re grateful for Sanah’s leadership over the last year, enabling the organization to build the partnerships, programs, and coalitions to further our mission. We congratulate her on her new role and look forward to continuing to work in partnership to create an enabling environment for growers and shoppers alike to prosper from the opportunity in plant-powered foods.”

“Leading PBFI has been a joy and a privilege, and I’m grateful to our team, Board, partners, and funders for everything we built together this year,” said Sanah. “Jeff brings more than 15 years of experience building programs and partnerships that shift systems, first in global health and now in food. I have full confidence in his leadership through this transition, and I can’t wait to see what PBFI accomplishes next.”

Jeff steps into the role at a time of real momentum. Over the past year, PBFI has:

  • Built and strengthened retail partnerships that meet shoppers where they are on nutrition and affordability.

  • Advanced a policy case to federal and state officials that plant protein is a smart investment from farm to fork, both as a growth market for American farmers and as a lever to expand access to affordable nutrition

  • Launched the Plant Protein Alliance, connecting Midwest growers, makers, and buyers to strengthen domestic markets for plant protein.

  • Released new consumer research that gives brands, health advocates, and other allies a shared story about plant-based foods as delicious additions to every plate.

We look forward to sharing more updates as our work progresses and any inquiries can be directed to info@plantbasedfoods.org.
